Dr. Yang Wang is an associate professor in the CSE department of OSU. His research interests are in distributed systems, in particular fault tolerance, scalability, and performance optimization.

He received Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. His advisors are Dr. Lorenzo Alvisi and Dr. Mike Dahlin. He is the recipient of Google Ph.D. Fellowship in Distributed Computing in 2013. He received his master’s (advisor: Dr. Jiwu Shu) and bachelorโ€™s degree in computer science in 2008 and 2005 respectively from Tsinghua University in China.

His research has been funded by NSF (CCF-2118745, CNS-1566403, CCF-1747447, and CNS-1908020) and Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NIH 1R01HD100420-01).
